Jo and I spent last weekend at my Uncle Jim’s cabin at Bear Lake. Her whole family came, and we had a great time playing on the beach, relaxing on the deck, and going through Minnetonka Cave. I could’ve stayed longer, and did not want to come back home and to work…
Here are some pics from our trip:

Hi, I just want to echo Rico’s sentiments. Our families rock. We had so much crap to move and not one complaint…..well that I heard anyway.
Our new house is great. The drive to work now is not so great but I’m getting creative on different ways I can get home so Katelynn and I try to make it an adventure. I’m realizing I’m no so great with the yard work….wait which one of those plants is a weed? They all look pretty to me. hehe Owning a yard is going to be a learning experience. I avoided yard work like the plague when I was growing up. The previous owner had the yard looking so awesome so we’ll have to invite everyone over before I manage to kill everything. haha (right now Rico is probably rethinking accepting any assistance I have offered to help out with the yard)

Hola,
We finally have everything moved out of the old house; after 4 days and way too many truck and trailer loads. I’m so sore and tired! Now comes the fun part of unpacking everything, deciding where to put it, and getting rid of hundreds of boxes. We owe a HUGE thanks to our awesome families for their help moving. We could not have done it without them. We love you!
I love our new house though. I’m so glad to be out of the house we were in. The deal was great so I’m not complaining about that, but the house itself was kind of nasty. Our new house feels so clean and its way quieter now that we’re not on a busy road. And the yard rocks.
Anyway, still a few things to take care of. I’m getting the water and garbage service turned on today. Comcast came out yesterday to do the TV and Internet, but couldn’t cause cable has never been run to the house before, so they need to do a pre-bury and go under about 100 ft. of concrete… fun. SO, we won’t have internet at home for 2 weeks or so. I’ll be working at the office instead of from home.
Our neighbors are awesome so far. We have received more greetings and welcomes in our new house in 3 days than we ever have at any other house. We got two plates of cookies too! Oh, and the Mormons already came by to welcome us and ask if we were going to attend the church next door. They were more than happy to learn that at least half of our family is LDS and Katelynn wants to get baptized.
I’m on the public library internet, so need to run. Just wanted to give a quick update on the move.
Adios,
Rico

Jo and I got home a couple of hours ago. eBay Live was fun, but also very exhausting. We worked long days and then stayed up late most nights to have some fun.
Sunday we didn’t have to work so we went on an architectural boat tour of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. It was really cool. Click on either of the images below for all the pictures I took.

Jo and I are leaving for eBay Live early in the morning. I’ll be posting a blog or two from there with some pics I hope.
Till then, adios.

Jo and I put an offer on a house on Saturday! We love the place, so we’re hoping its accepted and all is done in time for us to move in by 6/30. We looked at homes for three days straight, and out of 12 or so, it is the only one we really liked.

Jo and I got a notice yesterday that we had to vacate the home we are currently in by June 30th. That gives us 39 days to find a place to buy or rent or something. We’re kinda freaking out a little.
So, our memorial day weekend plans include packing boxes, moving stuff to storage, and packing more boxes, and hopefully looking at a few homes.
We were really hoping to have some more time and were really surprised by the notice. If you didn’t know, we’ve been renting a house that is scheduled to be demolished to make way for road widening on 104th South in South Jordan. We were getting a killer deal on rent, and we have lots of room here.
But, we knew this day would come. I think we just thought we’d get a bit more of a notice. 90 days or something would have been nice. As it is, we’ll have to have an offer on a house by the end of next week if the deal is likely to close by the end of June.
Wish us luck. Oh, and if anybody feels like flexing their muscles to help us move, let us know!!
~ Rico
